How long do we hang our meat for?
We hang our beef for 10-14 days and we hang our sheep for 5-7 days prior to boning to prior to ensure maximum flavour and tenderness.
Will meat be fresh or frozen?
When you collect your meat it will have been chilled.
Where do I collect my meat from?
Your processed meat can be collected from our butchery 745 Whakapirau Road, Maraekakaho. Alternatively we can delivery the meat to your door for an additional fee.
Do you process the whole animal?
When we home kill an animal for you we will provide you with a cut selection form. If you would like additional parts like Heart, Kidney, Liver, Tongue etc. please let is know prior to the kill.
Do you take the offal away?
Yes absolutely. Fee depends on animal $50 Beef, $10 Sheep, $5 Pigs
How far will you travel to kill my animal?
Prime Cuts is proud to offer services across the Hawke’s Bay region.
Do you have EFTPOS?
We currently do not have EFTPOS facilities. We can invoice you for services rendered or we can accept bank transfers.
Can we pay by internet banking?
Yes Account Name: Prime Cuts Account Number: 06-0645-0676403-00 Reference: Initials + Surname If you choose to pay via Internet transfer, Payment will need to be cleared prior to meat being collected or delivered.

Do you have flavoured sausages?
Yes we have many flavours available. If you would like flavoured sausages please request these in the cut sheet prior to animal being killed.
Do you do gluten free sausages?
Yes we have Gluten Free options available.
What happens if I don’t complete the order form?
The animal will be cut up at our discretion.
How much meat will I get back?
40-60% of your hook weight is a general measure of the amount of meat you will take home from the kill.
Can you hang my beef for longer than 14 days?
This depends on space availability (i.e seasonal fluctuations) and will need to be discussed with management. If your animal is hung for longer than 14 days this will be at your own risk to the outcome of the final product. There will also be an additional storage charge.
What happens if I am not able to collect my meat?
If this occurs you have 2 options. 1. Enquire for delivery fee 2. If options 1 is not suitable we will charge a daily rate for storage of $10.00 per day as this has the potential to impact on other clients.
Can I keep my hide?
Yes you can keep the hide.
Do you vacuum Pack?
Yes. Vacuum packing incurs additional charges depending on quantity per bag please talk to us about this charge If you choose not to have your product vacuum packed then all meat will come in sealed bags for transport.
